Customize BES Console Right-Click Menu

Starting with BES 6.0, you can customize the right-click menu in the BES Console when clicking on a computer.

Simply add the registry values below to your BES Console computer to take advantage of the right-click options.

  • Ping by IP(s) -- Opens a command prompt to ping the computer by its IP address. If there are multiple IP addresses, each IP address will be pinged in a succession. You must copy the file "iteratecmd.bat" (included in the zip below) into your BES Console folder for ping to work properly. Works for up to 5 computers simultaneously.
  • Tracert -- Opens a command prompt to tracert to the computer using the DNS Name. Works for up to 5 computers simultaneously.
  • Windows Remote Desktop -- Launches Windows Remote Desktop and connects to the computer using the DNS Name. You must have Windows Remote Desktop software (mstsc.exe) installed on your BES Console computer (it comes by default with WinXP and Win2K3 and can be installed from here for other Windows operating systems). In order for the "Windows Remote Desktop" to be available in the right click menu, you must add a property that detects if Remote Desktop is enabled on the BES Client computer and have the computer report "True" for this property. You can add the property here. This will only work on 1 computer at a time.
