Change-list for BES 6.0 non-Windows Agents Release January 16, 2007 This document lists the changes made to the BES 6.0.9 Macintosh agent since version 5.1.11 and the BES 6.0.16 UNIX agents since version 6.0.2. The following changes were made: - Added support for Solaris 10 on x86. - Added support for SUSE and RedHat Linux for 64-bit Intel non-Itanium platforms (x86-64). - Macintosh agent was updated to support BES 6.0 functions and features. - Many Macintosh inspectors added and enhanced (see Macintosh Inspector Library documentation for more details). - Fixed a Macintosh agent issue where the agent would not restart after a user logs out. - Fixed a Macintosh agent issue where UNIX shell actions would fail and not complete the script if anything wrote to stdout or stderr. - Fixed a Macintosh agent issue with the Action Language where mounting of disk images would leave the images mounted, preventing further download actions. - Fixed a Macintosh agent issue where valid operators were not being recognized. - The version of OpenSSL used in the agents was upgraded to .098d. - The RPM inspectors were enhanced to include "architecture of ". - Fixed an issue so that agents now properly delete a site that is in an inconsistent state from its internal data store. - Fixed issue so that certain temporary files left over as a result of command polling on agent are now deleted. - Changed behavior so that when agents uncompress files with the "extract" command, file modification timestamps are no longer reset to the current time. - Fixed issue where agents would reset postponement times if the computer was restarted under certain conditions. - Modified agents to properly track application usage summary information for applications that are still running when the agent exits. - Fixed an issue that could cause the agent to crash because of stack-exhaustion due to recursion in certain inspectors. - Agents can now be configured to support basic proxy authentication. - The number of open files required during a gather operation has been reduced for efficiency. - Fixed an issue where non-bigfix action scripts (e.g. /bin/sh) would fail under certain conditions. - Fixed an issue where agents were not handling relevance substitution for 'download now' commands. - Enhanced agents to deal with quotes and whitespace in delete command better. - Fixed an issue where under certain conditions, agents could potentially fail to send in reports. - Fixed an issue where agents would sometimes not recognize action parameters attached to Multiple Action Groups. - Fixed an issue where under certain conditions, agents could fall into a loop in which they continuously triggered machine restarts. - Fixed an issue where invalid properties analysis references could cause the agent to send frequent reports. - Fixed an issue where application usage inspectors would sometimes improperly report a 'last start time' of zero. - Fixed a relevance language issue where 'now as local zoned time_of_day' would return a bogus value.
