Summary:

Can I use Web Reports to search for OVAL security elements?

Solution:

Use the Find capability of the browser to locate a specific OVAL id within any reports that list OVAL definitions. Custom reports to include either a list of OVAL definitions or for a specific definition can be created directly within the interface.

From the Report tab, select the link to "Create Report." For a report of all OVAL definition, select the report template "All Fixlets." Once the report is displayed, select the Filter tab.

If a filter has already been created to limit the list to only OVAL definitions or a specific definition, select "Use Saved Filter" and select the respective filter from the drop-down list. Press next to continue.

If a filter does not already exist, select "Create filter." At the "Fixlet Sitename Filter Type" choose "include" and then select the appropriate site(s) from the list: Vulnerabilities for Windows systems, Vulnerabilities for Red Hat systems, Vulnerabilities for Solaris systems. Press next to continue to the next page where you will have the option to select any or all OVAL definitions along with other report criteria. Once the report has been generated, the "store reports" option will enable a user to save the report.
