BigFix Enterprise Suite Evaluation Software

BigFix offers a free, fully functioning 30-seat, 30-day evaluation of BES. To download and install BES (evaluation version), simply follow the instructions below:

  1. Verify that you have a computer that meets the minimum system requirements for the BigFix Enterprise Server.
  2. Download the BigFix Enterprise Suite Evaluation version below and run the installer.
  3. Read the BES Quickstart Guide to lead you through the installation and additional product information.
  4. You will be prompted in the installer to select which BES solutions you would like to evaluate (Patch Management for Windows, SANS Top 10 Vulnerabilities, etc.) Choose the different solutions you would like to evaluate and continue the installation (more details on product solutions below).
  5. After the installation completes, you will be prompted with further instructions.

BES Solutions and Extensions

The following solutions are available for evaluation. You will be prompted to select the sites you want to evaluate during the installation of the evaluation version of BES. See below for more details on each solution and extension.

Configuration Management

  • BES Inventory and License Allows for hardware and software inventory and license reporting.
  • BES Asset Discovery Allows for scan-based discovery of network device and computers without the agent.
  • Software Deployment Allows for deployment of software packages, MSI, arbitrary files, etc. (this feature is directly built into the platform).

Patch Management

  • Patches for Windows Microsoft security patches for Windows operating systems (multiple languages supported).
  • Patches for Unix, Linux, and Macintosh Platforms Patches for Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Red Hat Linux and Macintosh OS X (agents available here).

Vulnerability Management

  • SANS Top 10 Vulnerabilities for Windows Detection and remediation of SANS Top Vulnerabilities for Windows.
  • Registry Vulnerabilities Detection and remediation of common vulnerable registry settings.
  • Security Policy Manager Security configuration best practices policies for Windows.

Endpoint Security

  • BigFix AntiPest (powered by PestPatrol) Removes Spyware from computers using the PestPatrol engine.
  • Client Manager for Spyware Tools Allows for centrally managing freely available or enterprise Spyware tools to remove Spyware from computers.
  • Client Manager for AntiVirus Help manage AntiVirus products from Symantec, McAfee, Computer Associates, Trend Micro, and Sophos.
  • Client Manager for Firewalls Help manage personal firewall products from Microsoft, BlackIce, McAfee, Sygate, and Zone Labs.

Client Compliance

  • Cisco NAC Integration with the Cisco NAC network enforcement framework to prevent unauthorized computers from connecting to the network.
  • InfoExpress Integration with InfoExpress network enforcement products to prevent unauthorized computers from connecting to the network.
